Information provided by this ledger includes who sent cargo from all parts of Dutchess County. Shipments were primarily grains such as wheat, barley, corn, oats, rye and flax seed but other agricultural products were sent including barrels of pork, beef, cider, whiskey and beer. 18 sloops made trips from the dock likely located in or near Poughkeepsie with destinations of New York City, Albany, West Point, Newburgh, etc. Season for shipping was March through December and involved about 20 trips per season..
